Terms of Service

Last updated October 14, 2026
This is a plain-language summary written for a TestFlight beta, not a law firm's template. If you plan a public App Store release, it's worth having these reviewed for your jurisdiction before then.

The beta

*[demo] is currently a private beta distributed through Apple's TestFlight. Betas are for testing: expect bugs, incomplete features, and changes between builds. The app, or access to it, may be modified, limited or discontinued at any time without notice.

Your content

Whatever you write in *[demo] is yours. We don't claim ownership of your lyrics or other content. By using features that sync or share content (cloud sync, collaboration, AI suggestions), you're giving us permission to process that content only as needed to provide those features — storing it, syncing it to your devices, sending relevant snippets to an AI provider when you use an AI tool, and showing it to collaborators you've explicitly invited.

Back up what matters

Beta software can lose data. If you're signed in, your songs sync to the cloud as a backup, but we can't guarantee against bugs, sync failures or data loss during this testing period. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose (Export, or Copy Lyrics, from within the app).

Acceptable use

Use the app for your own songwriting. Don't use it to generate or store content that's illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is intended to harass or harm another person — including a collaborator you've invited. Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or abuse the service, including the AI features, beyond normal use.

Third-party services

*[demo] relies on other companies' services to work: Apple (TestFlight, sign-in, and the operating system itself), Google (sign-in), and an AI provider (OpenAI, for AI-powered suggestions, or Claude on the web version). Your use of those services through the app is also subject to their own terms.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" during this beta, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of a beta product, including loss of data or content.

Ending the beta

Either of us can stop at any time — you can delete the app and your account whenever you like, and we may end or change the beta program at any time. We'll try to give notice where practical, but during a beta that isn't always possible.

Changes to these terms

We'll update this page if these terms change, and update the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
